Master Bath in historic Broadway home.
This 1840s home had fabulous bones, but a very small master bath. The homeowner wisely decided to convert an un-used bedroom into a spa-like retreat.
Here's a quick tour of the space:
Below: On the left, the small, original bathroom became a walk-in closet
with a well-lit make-up vanity and plenty of storage.
The view into the bathroom beheld a stunning chandelier
which can be dimmed to soften then lighting when desired.
For extra light, several recessed (can) lights were added over the sink, fireplace, toilet and shower.
The original fireplace needed a facelift and received fresh tile and paint:
A custom bench was built to provide extra seating near the tub.
Custom fabrics and cushions accentuate the bench, which also provides extra storage.
A custom walk-in shower was plumbed and built in place.
Oiled bronze fixtures are a modern favorite, but still provide an Old World feel.
A vanity with marble top and extra storage were added.
An elegant light fixture brightens the space,
while a vent fan over the shower keeps moisture out of the space.
Plumbing was run from the original bathroom,
adding a toilet in one corner, well hidden behind a discreet pony-wall.
The beautiful heart-pine floors were given a fresh finish.
