updating all the cabinets and fixtures,
there was one major requirement:
The original kitchen:
Tired, white cabinets crammed in a tight,
closed off corner of the living space.
Work space: 0
Dust-collecting surfaces above cabinets: too many.

In the original space, the living room was defined
by the unique carpet lay-out :)
After removing all of the flooring and carpet,
we went back in with a wide-plank engineered floor
that seamlessly tied the living room and kitchen space together.
The original pantry was removed...
To make room for new appliances!
Loving that black stainless look with the
Greystone Shaker cabinets!
Custom soffits, built to cover the 42" wall cabinets,
means no open ledge to clean.
Scott painstakingly built the soffits
to fit perfectly above the new cabinets.
A stainless apron sink and black matte faucet
were classy, modern choices.
Gas cooktop was a must;
arabesque stainless backsplash makes
for easy clean-up.
No wasted space here;
a blank wall became an opportunity for
more storage and a wine bar:
