Eat in Bar

This beautiful hickory cabinet kitchen 

provides plenty of storage, work space,

and a large eat-in Bar top which will serve

as the family dining area.

We love how the warm wood tones 

and the natural stone backsplash

bring lots of life to this space. 

But it wasn't always that way.

The original kitchen featured 

vintage white cabinets and 

a tight footprint.

The hickory cabinets are solid wood construction,

with soft closers on doors and drawers. 

We love the quality and quiet

they provide in a kitchen. 

The island bar top is elevated

to provide a dining space for family.

It also serves well as a buffet during parties.

The original kitchen lacked lighting.

Now, multiple recessed lights 

cover the work space.

 Granite countertops contrast beautifully 

with the butcher block tops on the island

workspace and bar.

much needed storage:

And the mudroom also received

additional cabinets,

and wall storage:

Sophisticated Gray Kitchen

Besides the usual opening up the space and

updating all the cabinets and fixtures, 

there was one major requirement:

no dust-collection shelf allowed!

The original kitchen:

Tired, white cabinets crammed in a tight, 

closed off corner of the living space.

Work space:  0

Dust-collecting surfaces above cabinets:  too many.

In the original space, the living room was defined

by the unique carpet lay-out :)

After removing all of the flooring and carpet,

we went back in with a wide-plank engineered floor 

that seamlessly tied the living room and kitchen space together.

The original pantry was removed...

To make room for new appliances!

Loving that black stainless look with the

Greystone Shaker cabinets!

Custom soffits, built to cover the 42" wall cabinets,

means no open ledge to clean.

Scott painstakingly built the soffits 

to fit perfectly above the new cabinets.

A stainless apron sink and black matte faucet

were classy, modern choices.

Gas cooktop was a must;

arabesque stainless backsplash makes 

for easy clean-up.

No wasted space here;
a blank wall became an opportunity for
more storage and a wine bar:

Designing a kitchen for a couple who love wood

was a no brainer. 

Scott's been dying to install hickory cabinets 

for a while now; we finally found a taker : )

Originally, this kitchen contained simple, 

stock cabinets that didn't provide that WOW factor. 

Before:

 Our clients wanted solid wood cabinets

that have lots character and natural beauty. 

Our Carolina Hickory cabinets provide that, 

plus the ease of soft-close doors and drawers.

And when they fell in love with this granite, 

we had a winning combination:

Double Duty bathrooms

Mission Impossible:

The clients needed to turn a powder room

into a full bathroom for their growing family. 

In order to do that, the master bath

would have to lose its water closet (toilet relocated).

Scott was not overcome : )

But designed the perfect solution:

In order to move the master toilet, 

we had to create space--

which meant a smaller tub.

we created a 3x4' corner shower:

we borrowed a little space from this hallway;
