Shades of Gray KITCHEN

Some designs follow a strong theme,
and in this case, Gray was the perfect choice.

Follow the renovation process below:

BEFORE, the space was traditionally compartmentalized.

A crowded kitchen with limited counter space,

a boxed in Dining Room,

and a living room closed off from the kitchen.

Our clients wisely chose to go open-concept,
and the walls came down!

A false ceiling made the kitchen feel much smaller.

Removing the boxed light, raising the ceiling
and installing recessed lights provided a more airy, open space.

Opening the kitchen and dining area to the living room
provides a large space for the family to share together.

and creating an island/raised bar

The new island provides visibility from the kitchen
into the living room, with seating space at the raised bar.

FAVORITE FEATURES:

This pantry provides extra storage for the
little office area conveniently located in the space.

A custom desk built from the shaker white cabinets
fits perfectly in the space.

Open shelving provides the perfect place
to display a few favorite items.

Adding French doors where there used to be
a single window adds lots of extra light,
and access to the backyard.

A built-in microwave and oven
fit perfectly in the space where the old pantry was.

A wine nook is a fun addition to any kitchen.

Structurally Sound

I loved the HGTV show "Holmes on Homes"
which featured the heroic contractor who saved
victims of poor-contracting and unsatisfactory renovations.

Occasionally, we get calls to come and redo jobs
that didn't turn out quite right. Here are a few of our favorites below:

THE SWAY-BACK SHE-SHED!

This sway-back shed needed some shoring up!
Built with an unfortunate bowed back,
this cute little she-shed left the clients unimpressed.

We re-supported the roof from the inside

and pushed the rafters up to the proper  height,.

Better now!

SIDING GOT SOAKED:

As our clients prepared to close on this house,
they needing a siding situation repaired ASAP!

We got right to it; but here's what we found:

As we removed the layers of warped siding,
we discovered that it had been installed directly on/touching
the roof shingles, causing the siding to soak up water.

This popular type of particle board siding has to have
proper spacing and flashing installed to protect it
from the elements (rain, snow).

AFTER:
Once the proper flashing was installed,
we re-installed the siding correctly,
caulked and painted.

Our clients were able to close on time
and move into their new home.

WELCOME HOME!

LEMONS = LEMONADE:

This client decided it was time to investigate a crack
in their stucco before water damage became an issue.
And add a window where there was none.

BEFORE:

AFTER:

From the inside, water damage was visibly
more extensive than we had imagined.

With the water damage and rot gone,
we prepared the hole for a window installation.

We created custom trims to match
the other trims in the house.

And another structurally-sound job completed!
